What is Dim to Warm?
Dim to Warm is an innovative technology that imitates the natural changes in sunlight, providing pleasant and flexible lighting.
It differs from normal dimming in that not only is the light intensity of the LED lights reduced during the process, but the color temperature of the light also changes seamlessly into a cozier, warmer range.
We have special Dim to Warm spots which can produce both neutral white and warm white light.
How does Dim to Warm work?
Dim to Warm technology works by adjusting the color temperature when the brightness of an LED luminaire is dimmed. In contrast to conventional LEDs, which only reduce the brightness, i.e. light intensity, when dimmed, dim2warm changes the color temperature from a neutral white to a warm, cozy glow. This adjustment is infinitely variable and is achieved using special circuits and LED modules that can emit both neutral and warm light colors. This allows the lighting to be adapted directly to the time of day or mood.

Areas of application
Their versatility makes them ideal for a wide range of applications, such as living areas, restaurants or hotels, where the lighting mood can vary depending on the time of day and activity. With a suitable dimmer, you can adjust the brightness and warmth of the light to suit your requirements. While warmer light temperatures (~2200K) promote relaxation, cooler light (~3000K) increases alertness.

Difference dim to warm & tuneable white
In principle, the same result can be achieved with both technologies. How is simply a question of the effort involved. The innovation of the new dim to warm technology already comes with all the necessary pre-settings, which makes it even more user-friendly.
The most significant difference, however, lies in the number of dimming channels required. Tunable white (matching know-how article: CCT LED) requires two separate dim channels for control. Dim2warm spots, on the other hand, only require one dim channel due to the technology already integrated in the LED spots. This saves space and money when planning lighting.
