COM, PS2, USB mouse adapter
Of course, our LED products (e.g. LED spots, LED strips, dimmers, …) are our passion, but as a developer I can use my knowledge for something else. In this case, it was about combining something old/loved with a technology (USB/PS-2) that simply didn’t exist at the time.
Retro fans take note, we had some time to spare and thought that the old Intel 486 DX2 66 should be running again, but the mouse had given up the ghost.
So we developed our adapter board on a slot bracket to connect modern USB or PS/2 mice to the good old 386, 486 and many more. to be able to.
The board is simply installed in the PC, the power supply (floppy connector) is connected and the COM port is connected. F E R T I G.
The modern mouse is already running on old PCs.
Commissioning
The board is ready for immediate use and is supplied with a cable for the power supply and a COM port cable.
1. screw the circuit board into a free slot on the PC
2. Power the board using the floppy connector
3. Connect the D-Sub 9-pin adapter to the COM port of the PC using the supplied cable
4. Connect the PS2 or USB mouse using the adapter
5. Install the mouse driver
We recommend Cute-Mouse version 2.1 as the driver. The driver has the option of using a mouse with a mouse wheel.
Other drivers such as iMouse etc. also work.
Simply install the driver in DOS or Windows
Depending on which mouse is used, the following mouse types can be selected using jumpers:
